One meal a day

 Day care / Feeding centres and          school feeding programs.

The Children's Fund of Malawi opened nine day care / feeding centres in the Thyolo-Mulanje region during the nationwide famine of 2002. A total of 1,500 children aged 3-5 and the elderly received a daily meal. CFM built kitchens with storage space in remote areas, so that Mary’s Meals, an international school feeding organisation, could establish a premanent “School Feeding Program” in the area.

Three years later, in 2005, Mary’s Meals took over our centres, and with our help, Mary’s Meals now feeds 25% of all primary schools in Malawi.
